FASHION WISH-LIST| March 2014

Update: Sorry guys, a lot of the images aren’t showing up anymore because I had just linked them in from websites, so that’s why there are a quite a few corrupted images! At the moment, new clothes and shoes are strictly in the “look, but don’t touch” box, otherwise my savings for my trip would go down the drain. If I was super rich though, here’s what I’d buy this month: SHOES: Shoes always get first mention because I love with them. The three shoes on my wish-list are all Windsor Smith shoes (surprise, surprise,) and I am hoping to get at least two pairs before going overseas (I am so sad that they don’t have Windsor Smith in Hong Kong… to my knowledge). 1. HAVEN If I could buy one item out of this whole blog post, it would most definitely be these! As soon as I saw Windsor Smith preview them I knew I had to get them! I can just imagine stomping around Cardiff in these through the winter months. Love! Love! …

RECIPE: Super Simple Pancakes

Yesterday, after a super tiring day of uni I felt like a little snack, so looked up a simple pancake recipe and added my own little twist as well as a yummy topping. The following recipe with the lemon zest and my super, simple topping made such a lovely combination! There was the zing of the lemon, the tartness of the blueberries and the sweetness of the maple syrup all at once! Plus the hot pancakes with the cold frozen blueberries made it all an adventure in your mouth. For something so easy, it’s pretty much a no-brainer snack. INGREDIENTS: 1 cup self raising flour 2 Tbsp White Suger 1/2 tsp finely grated lemon zest (optional) 1 cup milk 1 egg, lightly beaten 30g melted butter TOPPING: Handful of organic frozen berries Organic maple syrup  (or whatever you like on your pancakes) METHOD: Sift the flour and sugar into a bowl. Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients. Add the lemon zest, milk, egg and melted butter and whisk to combine. Heat …

GOLDFISH AND MONEY | March 2014

Either, I have the intelligence and attention span of a goldfish, or uni readings are actually really hard. via Tumblr I’m currently in the middle of writing my first uni essay of the year… and by writing I mean, reading the readings I should have read three weeks ago. The problem I find with these kinds of things though, are how ridiculously complicated some of these readings are. Many of these things leave you wondering whether they even knew what they were going on about… This isn’t always the case, but for this essay in particular; blimey! Side-note, while I can’t really pick up more work hours to earn more money for my trip, I did think of another way to earn a little bit of cash; selling clothes on ASOS Marketplace! The reason I picked this site over sites like eBay or TradeMe (which is a New Zealand site) is because it’s only fashion and accessory items being sold and people who go on this site are going to be more interested in what …

Current Situation Update | March 2014

So, I’ve been highly inactive on this blog, mainly because there has been nothing to blog about. via Tumblr Although I had planned everything to the very last detail, it of course didn’t go to plan. However, I think I’m better off for it. I now have found really great plane tickets from Auckland to France (return) which I WILL be buying at the end of next week, I know what insurance I want to get and I have a couple of concerts to look forward to while I’m over there!  Now, updates on what I’ve been up to; I’ve honestly just been doing a lot of working and studying. I did however get to see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis live! But even more importantly, I got to see Bruno Mars…. Twice. He is absolutely incredible. There are no words that do him justice. I’ve always liked Bruno Mars and his music, but after seeing him live, it just took it all to a whole other level. He is hands-down the best live performer I …

My Tech Travel Lifesavers | March 2014

Planning for trips can be one of the most exciting things to do, but it can also be super stressful. Below are some of my favourite travel apps and websites that have been lifesavers and have made this whole trip planning experience super organised and enjoyable! In no particular order: Skyscanner: This is the best way to check out all the best deals for flights from anywhere, toanywhere. It gives you all the flight details (connection flights, waiting times,) on the website and is then able to direct you to the right place to buy the tickets. There are plenty of options to customise your search, making it the perfect flight finder. Trip Advisor: This website it THE BEST way to find everything you need to have a good time while away. The website gives visitors options for the best accommodation, activities, attractions, landmarks and places to eat, each with customisable options within these categories. All the advice is based off reviews from real people. You are able to read reviews left by people who …

MY 2014 TRAVEL WISH-LIST IN PICTURES

SORRY. I’ve been having some trouble with the photographs in this post. It will be back to normal soon hopefully! While I don’t have the funds to do a big scale Europe trip this year there are still some small, very do-able trips that I’m hoping to do. So here is my 2014 Travel Wish-list in the form of pictures (N.B none of the photos below are mine). Dusseldorf, Germany Limoges, France Paris, France Split & Zagreb, Croatia Slovenia London, England Scotland Cardiff, Wales Pretty much all of these destinations have been confirmed, the only two that I’m unsure about at the moment is Croatia and Slovenia, but I am fairly certain we can make it work. I am so excited and it will be interesting to see whether I’m able to tick-off all the destinations on this wish-list, we shall see very soon. A

Recording Travels

For christmas I was lucky enough to receive some very helpful gifts! One of my requests I gave to friends and family for Christmas present ideas was “something that would be helpful for my travels next year,” and they kindly obliged. One of the things I’m really looking forward to whilst travelling is documenting, through photographs, videos, writing, scrapbooking and illustrations all the things I get up to. I really want to try and make it a “thing”. A “thing” meaning; not something I start for a week or two and then either forget about/ am too lazy to update. I understand that sometimes, especially during my studies at uni my life will probably be incredibly boring and monotonous, but even a a random blog post once a week is my goal while I’m away.  Aaaand, I’ve just realised I’ve gone on a massive tangent; back to the point. Christmas presents. I got given three different journals for Christmas, one is a blank A5 visual diary, another is a medium sized travel journal from the cute Swedish …
