Autumn Sniffles

I love autumn and winter! I also love summer and spring, but autumn and winter are the times of year that you can layer and wrap up warm and snug. What I don’t like about autumn though is cold and flu season. The past couple of months I’ve been able to avoid getting any colds or sniffles, but after a night out in the freezing cold after work, I couldn’t run away any longer. Positives of getting the sniffles? One of my favourite drinks; lemon, ginger and honey, yum! Advertisements

My Current Situation| April 2014

Tomorrow I will be able to say I’m going to Europe “next month”. I don’t think it has hit me yet. It still feels like a surreal dream that seems months and months away. Writing this now though I can feel it slowly starting to sink in. Up until now I hadn’t been nervous at all, just a big bouncy bag of excitement (sorry- had to end the alliteration there). Now though, I think I’m starting to feel a bit of nervousness creeping in, nerves are always good though, so I’m not worried! This month has been a bit of a roller-coaster. It started as a week of stress, stress, stress and then to a week of laziness due to the holidays, and now this week I’m thinking it’s time to be a bit more proactive again. I’ve been working as much as possible (it didn’t help that all the days I work at the library happened to fall on public holidays the past couple of weeks,) and my parents have found me an odd …

GONE GIRL (Novel): A REVIEW

One of those novels that could have been good, but missed it by an inch and a bit. via Wikipedia Title: GONE GIRL Author: Gillian Flynn Published: 2012 SYNOPSIS: The story is about husband and wife, Nick and Amy, 30-somethings who move from their home in New York back to Nick’s hometown in Missouri. One morning, on the anniversary of their 5th wedding anniversary, Nick goes to work like any other day. When he comes home however, he finds his house trashed and his wife missing. The novel switches between Amy’s personal diary entries from the past, and Nick’s perspective in the present. Nick finds himself in hot water as the leading suspect of his wife’s  disappearance and it’s up to him to prove his innocence, but with so much evidence mounting against him is he really innocent? And if so, who really kidnapped his wife?   MY VERDICT: I had wanted to read this book for such a long time. Every time I went to the book store it was on the highly recommended …

Out & About | April 2014

Today I went for a little outing to the Auckland Royal Easter Show! Nearly every year I’ve trudged along to the Royal Easter Show, I used to love it as a kid, but as I grew up it slowly got less and less interesting for me. This year though, despite the wet and the cold, I actually had a really great time! I ended up staying for seven hours, which “wows” even me. Along with the carnival games and rides there was a petting zoo, a marketplace and an art exhibition which I personally loved the most. I love art. I’m not very good at it, but most of my family are, so I have an appreciation for it definitely! I think I also had a bit too much bad food for one day too, but it was worth it! Here are a few pictures I took during the day, including my OOT (outfit of the day). Wet weather Outfit of the Day Wearing: Rain Jacket: ASOS Black Skinny Jeans: ASOS Petite Plain Grey Tshirt: …

Happy Easter | April 2014

It’s that time of year again, where stuffing your face with chocolate doesn’t make you look like a pig. via Pinterest It has crept up on me so fast, but Easter is finally here! There is nothing better than getting a whole lot of chocolate! And, not only do I get Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday off but, I am officially on holiday for two weeks! While it’s not going to be all relaxing and partying due to more assignments due after the hols (*sigh*,) it does mean that the pressure is off and I can take it all at my own pace. The past couple of days I’ve started packing most of my things into boxes so that it’s easier for me to move things into my new bedroom which will hopefully (fingers crossed,) be finished before I go to Europe. The Europe trip is creeping up on me too, in just a couple of weeks I’ll be able to say that I’m going to Europe next month, that is so bloody …
