Study break, catch-ups and celebrations!

There’s nothing more refreshing and nothing that makes me more relieved than handing in my last assignment for the semester, and on Friday I was able to do just that.

The Coffee Club, Ellerslie

I gave myself a much deserved (well I think it was much deserved anyway,) break over the weekend catching up with TV shows and I also got through season 1 of UK TV shows Grantchester and Happy Valley. Both quite different on the spectrum of television, but both very enjoyable.

I don’t know about you, but I’m one of those people that gets lost on the internet. For example I google search something and then a few minutes later I’ve clicked my way into something so riveting that I read about it for hours, but it’s completely different from where I started.

Prime examples include reading about cats, the origins of citrus fruit such as mandarins and grapefruits and very interesting things about paleoanthropology. It was by this means that I came across the TV shows. Yeah, I know. I’m weird.

Anyway, thanks to a slightly less demanding schedule I’ve taken it upon myself to try and catch up with people I’ve missed seeing for the past months or so. First person was my friend Moana, who you many of you will probably be familiar with. We went for coffee and cake in the park and found out we had something to celebrate when Moana found out she’d been accepted into a barista course! Congratulations Moana!

I also have a 22nd birthday dinner this week and a much needed catch up with my friend Morgaine who I literally feel like I haven’t seen in months!

This is also the year a lot of my friends turn 21, so I have a few 21st birthday parties coming up which is exciting! First one is this weekend, a dress-up party where I’m going as Eliza Thornberry from the Wild Thornberry’s. I am not ginger, nor do I look anything like her, but my friends are going as other characters from the show, so naturally, I’m going as Eliza, duh. We’ll see how that goes. Photos will be posted I’m sure.

  1. I know what you mean about the rabbit hole of the internet. I read one thing, get stuck on a word, go look that word up, become an expert on the word, find some semi-related videos and hours later, I realise I’ve gone on a huge tangent.

Where did you see all those pukekos?
