Month: August 2015

Guess what?! I’m Moving to Orlando, Florida!

via @annaleemutz I am so so so excited to announce that in January next year I’ll be packing up my bags once again to move overseas! This time I’m off to Orlando, Florida to work at Walt Disney World! The excitement is real! If you’ve been reading my ‘Currently‘ posts the past couple of months you may have noticed that I’ve been banging on about a ‘secret’ trip that I couldn’t announce yet because I was still waiting for confirmation and guess what?! It’s confirmed! A couple of months ago I applied for the Disney International Cultural Exchange Program and since then I’ve been waiting in anticipation for my application to get accepted, then once that came through I had to attend an interview and after that, the most nerve-wracking wait to find out if I had been accepted into the program. Disney is just one of the those things that seemed like a really really awesome opportunity and I didn’t want to miss out. I was actually in the process of interviewing for an amazing job …

Food Photo Friday #24: Dinner @ Chow, Wellington

Food: Beef Pho /Consumed at: Chow, Wellington CBD/ Date: June 2015 Chow is a cool Asian-fusion place in Wellington CBD that Georgie and I went to for dinner while I was down in Wellington a couple of months ago to visit. Georgie had been here for a work-do a little while back, so recommended we go there for dinner. When we got there it was so packed that we had to line up to reserve a table (a good indication it’s a good place to eat). The next available table wasn’t going to be free for at least 45 minutes, so after putting our names down, we went to find a cafe to grab a coffee inside while we waited, away from the freezing cold outside. About half an hour later we got a call saying there was a table available so we headed back, got seated and ordered. I went for the Vietnamese Beef Pho (no surprises there), Georgie went for the Jungle Curry and we shared a plate of Beggars Purses which were filled …

Food Photo Friday #23: Lunch @ The White Rabbit

Food: Roasted chicken + smoothie/ Consumed at: The White Rabbit, Auckland CBD/ Date: August 2015 I was super excited to head down to The White Rabbit for lunch with my lovely friends this week! It was the best way to get a bit of a breather from a long day at uni. First off, let me start with the decor. I absolutely adored it. Everything is so light and spacious and it is everything I want my first house to look like. The girls and I even commented on the music– so good. First I ordered a green smoothie which consisted of spinach, spirulina, apple and pineapple if I remember correctly, which was absolutely delish and I finished mine well before the others had gotten through half of their’s! Then came lunch which was an absolute dream: half a roasted chicken on split grain and mushrooms with wilted spinach and a perfect jus to go with it all. It was also a huge serving so I had to pretty much wobble back up to uni …

Food Photo Friday #22: Chowder @ Cuba St Bistro

Food: Seafood Chowder/ Consumed at: Cuba St Bistro, Wellington/ Date: June 2015 It may not look pretty, but it sure was a delight to eat! This week’s FPF features a big bowl of delish! I know seafood chowder isn’t really everybody’s cup of tea, but if you’re unaware, I’m not a very fussy eater (Buzzfeed even confirmed it– I ticked off 4/87) so I’ll eat a bowl of seafood chowder any day. My friend Georgie and I weren’t really sure where we wanted to stop for lunch and were just walking down Cuba St when we stumbled across this bistro. Georgie had heard relatively good things about the place and it looked quite cosy inside so we thought we’d give it a try. The seafood chowder was the soupe du jour which came in two serving sizes. I opted for the smaller serving which was a good call because even the small bowl was incredibly filling. I also bought a bottle of kumbucha to wash it all down with. I’m no seafood chowder expert, but I …

It Took Me 3 Days To Get Home! | Vlog

If you remember what I was up to in January this year, you may remember I was making my way home from the UK, and it took me three days! From Cardiff to London, to Paris, to Hong Kong and finally home to Auckland it was a pretty tiring and long journey home. I wrote two blog posts about it, Part 1 and Part 2, but I also had some footage of the long trip which I thought I’d share with you. The very last footage of my Europe Trip. Enjoy tout le monde!

Currently: July

This month I’m back at uni for MY LAST SEMESTER EVER. It’s pretty crazy and I’m kind of at the point where I just want it all to be over already! So what do I have planned for after I graduate? I have a couple of things in the works, none of which have been confirmed yet and the first won’t be confirmed until late-August. You guys might remember my 2016 wish-list that included going over to the US… Let that be a clue of what my plans might be, but they could be happening much sooner/in a different way than I had ever expected! In the meantime, catch up on what I got up to last month. CURRENTLY: Reading: Over the past month I’ve been reading a lot of Woman’s Day because of my internship there, but I’m now back to the academic readings for uni assignments. Watching: Suits! It was recommended to me by quite a lot of people and I’m so glad I started it, because I love it! Listening to: I’m sure you roll your eyes …
