This month marked the end of an era for me– graduating university and finishing my schooling (for now). Bachelor of Communication Studies majoring in journalism. Holla!
Walking down the main street in Auckland with all my fellow classmates, and then seeing everyone graduate was such an awesome experience and one that I’ll never forget! A bit weird being surrounded by people taking photos of you while you walk down the street though, I have to admit.
In other news I’ve been working at Lush a lot, being super busy with the Christmas rush and saving as much as I can for the USA (21 days until I leave NZ, it hasn’t quite sunk in yet). I had a super relaxing Christmas with good food, drink and tunes with some of my close family which was really lovely.
I’ve been quite slack lately with my blogging and haven’t really done any blogworthy things if I’m honest, but rest assured you’ll be bombarded with lots of blogs posts (and hopefully vlogs) very very soon. Meanwhile, here’s a quick run-down of this month:
Reading: Wicked Business by Janet Evanovich. It’s a funny, easy-read with a bit of a magical twist. Picked this up along with the first of the series when I went to the library a couple of weeks ago.
Watching: American Horror Story: Hotel. I’ve just started catching up with the new series and am loving it so far! Also started and finished the French television show Versailles and a BBC show called The Last Kingdom. Also the last episode of Downton Abbey ever, aired on Christmas Day and I’m pretty sad about it all.
Listening to: Okay, so I’m honestly still listening to the Rudimental album on repeat. I absolutely love Will Heard‘s features throughout the album. He has the voice of an angel, no lie. Instead of listening to Christmas tunes on Christmas day I listened to Rudimental and watched a whole playlist of their live performances. I’m mad, I know.
Dreaming of: Beach days! I’ve been working so much these past few weeks that I haven’t been able to get out and enjoy the summer sun. I literally drove past the beach during my lunch break yesterday and almost cried– it was such a beautiful day, but I had to work.
Planning: All that last minute stuff for the trip! Finally got my visa sorted, so the final step is my travel insurance and then I’m all set to go.
Making: Money, money money. Work has been very time consuming, and as much as I love it, there are always those days when you’d rather be doing something else. Also thinking about the saving for my trip keeps me motivated and happy.
Enjoying: My last three weeks at home. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve seen a lot of people I haven’t seen in a long time which has been wonderful. I hate New Years resolutions, but if I had to make one, it would be to make a bigger effort to see old friends.
Eating: Almonds and dried cranberries! My easy go-to snack between meals. Also, as much Vietnamese food as I can before I go!
Goal setting: I’ve been trying to go to the gym as much as I can over the past few months, so one of my goals is to keep it up while I’m over at Disney.
Lusting over: Will Heard’s voice. He can sing me to sleep any time.
