Noël en France

Despite the fact that I had been dreaming for a white Christmas, that wasn’t to be the case, but my Christmas was lovely all the same! It was spent eating and drinking far too much and it was definitely special to have spent it with family that I don’t get to see very often. Here is a collection of photos I took during my short stay back in Vicq-sur-Breuilh. I hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Years! Advertisements

Winter Wonderland: Cardiff

Leading up to the opening of Winter Wonderland in Cardiff I would walk past the park and see all the different parts being built and lights being hung up and in addition to the pretty Christmas lights and displays in town, it really was beginning to feel like Christmas. Seeing as this was my first Winter Wonderland experience (because I’m used to a  hot summer Christmas,) I was very excited, especially excited for the ice skating rink in fact. I ended up heading to Winter Wonderland twice. Once with just two of my friends, and the second time with the majority of my flat and the flat next door, which was a lot of fun. The highlights included; ice skating, going on the giant swing ride and eating Nutella and banana crepes!

Winter Favourites

Haven’t done a favourites post in a very long time, but recently there have been a few items that I’m really enjoying and I thought I’d share them. First up: Christmas themed bedding: I bought this double-sided bedding set from Primark about two months ago. There is a very Christmasy side and then a navy blue, slightly less Christmas-y side which I’ve been showing until now when it’s acceptable to be Christmas-y. It’s warm, cute and was very cheap! Turtle-neck tops/jumpers: With the colder months here I’ve been investing in some long sleeved, warmer tops. I’ve really been loving turtle-necks at the moment, reminds me of my childhood when I used to rock the skivvys and overalls. I originally bought a black and white stripped top from Urban Outfitters and loved it so much that I got the same in black (yes, I have become one of those people). I also bought a grey and black turtle-neck jumper from Topshop (pictured above) and another grey top from Next. Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera: With everything being …

I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas…

I’ve always loved Christmas, it is definitely my favourite time of the year, however unlike my friends up here in the Northern Hemisphere, my Christmas day is usually associated with summer sun, BBQs and the beach. I’ve always grown up with summer Christmas’, so one of the most exciting things about being in Europe for Christmas is the hope for a white Christmas! While my friends here tell me that it very rarely snows in Cardiff, particularly around Christmas, I’m hoping that going back to Limoges in France will treat me, as they usually get snow. I am so excited! In other news, last night I got an email congratulating me for getting accepted into my university major of choice; Journalism, which is such a huge relief and has made me excited for my final year of university. This is the second to last week before we break up for Christmas break, so my flat have a few Christmas-y plans such as a homemade flat Christmas dinner and a floor trip to the Cardiff Winter …

Recording Travels

For christmas I was lucky enough to receive some very helpful gifts! One of my requests I gave to friends and family for Christmas present ideas was “something that would be helpful for my travels next year,” and they kindly obliged. One of the things I’m really looking forward to whilst travelling is documenting, through photographs, videos, writing, scrapbooking and illustrations all the things I get up to. I really want to try and make it a “thing”. A “thing” meaning; not something I start for a week or two and then either forget about/ am too lazy to update. I understand that sometimes, especially during my studies at uni my life will probably be incredibly boring and monotonous, but even a a random blog post once a week is my goal while I’m away.  Aaaand, I’ve just realised I’ve gone on a massive tangent; back to the point. Christmas presents. I got given three different journals for Christmas, one is a blank A5 visual diary, another is a medium sized travel journal from the cute Swedish …
