Yes, I’ve skipped a month, but with a crazy-load of uni work, can you blame me? Just three more weeks until I am done, done, done with university… forever (or until I decide to study more). Anyhoo, here’s what I’ve been up to so far during the month of October. CURRENTLY: Reading: Lots and lots of lifestyle articles online, sometimes uni is fun. Watching: Everything is back! TVD, The Flash, Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, OUAT, HTGAWM and most likely missed a few in my excitement.  Listening to: I’m digging the new Rudimental album so much. “Rumour Mill” and “Treading Water” have to be a couple of my absolute faves though. TUNES. Dreaming of: THREE WEEKS UNTIL SUMMER HOLIDAYS! Planning: My trip to Walt Disney World and generally just sorting my post-uni life out. Making: Flight plans, visa plans, hotel plans and new Disney friends. Enjoying:  The last few weeks of uni with my friends, even if the workload is horrible.  Eating:  At this very moment I’m chomping down on some Watermelon Sour Patch Kids. Excited for: I know this is probably getting old, …

This month I’m back at uni for MY LAST SEMESTER EVER. It’s pretty crazy and I’m kind of at the point where I just want it all to be over already! So what do I have planned for after I graduate? I have a couple of things in the works, none of which have been confirmed yet and the first won’t be confirmed until late-August. You guys might remember my 2016 wish-list that included going over to the US… Let that be a clue of what my plans might be, but they could be happening much sooner/in a different way than I had ever expected! In the meantime, catch up on what I got up to last month. CURRENTLY: Reading: Over the past month I’ve been reading a lot of Woman’s Day because of my internship there, but I’m now back to the academic readings for uni assignments. Watching: Suits! It was recommended to me by quite a lot of people and I’m so glad I started it, because I love it! Listening to: I’m sure you roll your eyes …

Here we are! Another month draws to a close and we are officially half way through the year! This month made me very nostalgic as it marked the month I left New Zealand one year ago for my big trip abroad with one of my best friends Moana! I wrote a blog post about my trip highlights: “Throwback Thursday: Best Trip of my Life“. Anyway, here’s what I have been up to this month: CURRENTLY: Reading: A lot of woman’s magazines. I’ve just starting an internship at one of NZ’s top woman’s magazines, Woman’s Day. Watching: Orange is the New Black. I don’t know why I didn’t start this sooner Listening to: I know I go on about Years and Years all the time. But I love, love, love “Shine” and “Foundation” at the moment. Dreaming of: The day I will work for a magazine that I love. Planning: A big trip which is still kind of under wraps at the moment. Keep an eye out for updates in the next couple of months. Making: New connections thanks to my internship (I …

Food Photo Friday #12: Pho in Brighton

Food: Phở Bò (Beef Pho) / Consumed: Pho, Brighton, UK / Date: December 2014 If you have any idea what “pho” is, then you might think this is the weirdest title of any of my blog posts to date. Why? Because I’m writing about the time I ate one of the most famous Vietnamese dishes of all time not in Vietnam, but in… Brighton. Here’s what happened: When you live overseas, there’s almost always going to be something that you miss from home. For me, it was delicious homemade Vietnamese food (my Mum’s family are Vietnamese-Chinese and I have grown up living off Vietnamese food). One of the first things I did when I arrived in Cardiff was to Google search if there were any Vietnamese restaurants in the area (after three months in France without Vietnamese food, I was getting some intense cravings). There was only one result which was 1) in an area I had never heard of 2) I had no idea how to get to and 3) I am lazy and couldn’t …

My Travel Bucket-List: Revisited| How well did I do?

Oh dear, here we go! Before embarking on my big 7 month trip to Europe I set myself a few goals that I wanted to achieve. Now today, I’m going to review them and see how well I actually did. I’m not feeling too optimistic guys…  Be able to hold a basic conversation in French: Because I’m going to be staying in France for around 3 months with an Aunt who knows limited-no English, I’m hoping that this will force me to use what little French I know and develop it a whole heap more. -Unfortunately, I don’t think I can tick this one off. While my understanding of French has definitely improved, my spoken French is still abysmal. I can form sentences in my head that I think make sense, but I think it was a combination of nerves that prevented me from actually speaking them aloud. This is still something I really want to improve before I go back.  Try 9 new foods/dishes: I’m usually quite an adventurous eater, I’ll give almost everything …

Another month, another time I nearly forget to do an update, so here goes; everything I’m currently doing, loving and dreaming about this month.  CURRENTLY: Reading: Just finished reading ‘The Rosie Project’ by Graeme Simison (LOVED IT!) Look out for a review coming your way sometime soon. Watching: Just finished the newest season of Silent Witness, also loving the new shows on E4, ‘Cucumber’ and ‘Banana’. Listening to: an assortment of awesome music Dreaming of: finding a new job. I’m currently searching for some part-time work Planning: A trip to the US and Europe for some time next year. Making: vlogs… Well, editing them anyway. Enjoying: The summer weather in New Zealand, although none has been that beach-worthy of late. Also enjoying the last few weeks before university starts again and catching up with people I haven’t seen in a while. Eating: lots of delicious summer fruits! Peaches, plums, watermelon, mangoes, yum! Excited for: A day when I can finally go to the beach! Goal setting: Saving saving saving, for my next trip! Learning: Wish I could say I was learning lots, but at the …

London: New Year Treats

So whilst in London over the New Years period, I did a bad thing. I was already skint beyond belief, but somehow (and I honestly don’t know how,) I managed to buy a few treats for myself, while being cultural and also visiting museums. The sales were crazy, and had I been raking in a bit more money, I would have gone full-out crazy. My friend also introduced me to a store that I’d never gone to before, Brandy Melville, which I absolutely love. A few of the things there are “one size fits all,” which I don’t completely understand. But either way, there were a few really cool pieces there. So, here’s a few of the things I bought:   Cozy socks from GAP:  I wasn’t going into GAP to buy anything, and was just going in because my friend wanted to buy some jeans, however as soon as I saw these, I knew I had to have them, or I could give them as a present (seriously, you can buy me socks (as long …

Winter Favourites

Haven’t done a favourites post in a very long time, but recently there have been a few items that I’m really enjoying and I thought I’d share them. First up: Christmas themed bedding: I bought this double-sided bedding set from Primark about two months ago. There is a very Christmasy side and then a navy blue, slightly less Christmas-y side which I’ve been showing until now when it’s acceptable to be Christmas-y. It’s warm, cute and was very cheap! Turtle-neck tops/jumpers: With the colder months here I’ve been investing in some long sleeved, warmer tops. I’ve really been loving turtle-necks at the moment, reminds me of my childhood when I used to rock the skivvys and overalls. I originally bought a black and white stripped top from Urban Outfitters and loved it so much that I got the same in black (yes, I have become one of those people). I also bought a grey and black turtle-neck jumper from Topshop (pictured above) and another grey top from Next. Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera: With everything being …
