London: New Year Treats

So whilst in London over the New Years period, I did a bad thing. I was already skint beyond belief, but somehow (and I honestly don’t know how,) I managed to buy a few treats for myself, while being cultural and also visiting museums. The sales were crazy, and had I been raking in a bit more money, I would have gone full-out crazy. My friend also introduced me to a store that I’d never gone to before, Brandy Melville, which I absolutely love. A few of the things there are “one size fits all,” which I don’t completely understand. But either way, there were a few really cool pieces there. So, here’s a few of the things I bought:   Cozy socks from GAP:  I wasn’t going into GAP to buy anything, and was just going in because my friend wanted to buy some jeans, however as soon as I saw these, I knew I had to have them, or I could give them as a present (seriously, you can buy me socks (as long …

I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas…

I’ve always loved Christmas, it is definitely my favourite time of the year, however unlike my friends up here in the Northern Hemisphere, my Christmas day is usually associated with summer sun, BBQs and the beach. I’ve always grown up with summer Christmas’, so one of the most exciting things about being in Europe for Christmas is the hope for a white Christmas! While my friends here tell me that it very rarely snows in Cardiff, particularly around Christmas, I’m hoping that going back to Limoges in France will treat me, as they usually get snow. I am so excited! In other news, last night I got an email congratulating me for getting accepted into my university major of choice; Journalism, which is such a huge relief and has made me excited for my final year of university. This is the second to last week before we break up for Christmas break, so my flat have a few Christmas-y plans such as a homemade flat Christmas dinner and a floor trip to the Cardiff Winter …

Update: Studying Abroad

It has been just over three months since I have last written a blog post, but what an amazing three months it has been. At the end of September I packed up my suitcases and said goodbye to my life in France which had been such a wonderful experience and being able to spend such a lot of time with my family that I’ve only seen a handful of times in my life. Onto a train to Paris, on a plane to London and then onto a coach to Cardiff I hopped! It was so strange suddenly seeing signs in English, but when I arrived into Wales not only was it English, but Welsh too. I was a bundle of excitement and nervousness as I sat in the van that drove me to my flat. I knew one person who was going to be in my flat, so that calmed my nerves a bit. Arriving to the flat is a bit of blur for me. I was super flustered and hot from carrying my huge …

T2: The Ultimate Tea Experience

It’s been a while now since my birthday; two and a half months to be exact. But after finishing off one of my birthday presents and feeling sad and slightly empty inside, I realised how much I’ve loved this present so, I thought I’d share it with you all! My present was given to me by my lovely friend Eloise and it came in a cute orange box with cellophane and a lovely red ribbon around it and smelled DELICIOUS! It was a strawberries & cream flavoured tea from T2! T2 Tea is an Australian company who I’d heard about numerous times and I’d seen stores popping up all around Auckland, with display windows decorated with brightly coloured teapots and cups. There is a HUGE range of delicious teas and cute tea-ware that you can buy, perfect for a cute cuppa! I like to have mine hot with a little bit of honey, or serve it cold on ice with a bit of lemonade or soda water! Well anyway, looks like it’s time for me …

My Current Situation| April 2014

Tomorrow I will be able to say I’m going to Europe “next month”. I don’t think it has hit me yet. It still feels like a surreal dream that seems months and months away. Writing this now though I can feel it slowly starting to sink in. Up until now I hadn’t been nervous at all, just a big bouncy bag of excitement (sorry- had to end the alliteration there). Now though, I think I’m starting to feel a bit of nervousness creeping in, nerves are always good though, so I’m not worried! This month has been a bit of a roller-coaster. It started as a week of stress, stress, stress and then to a week of laziness due to the holidays, and now this week I’m thinking it’s time to be a bit more proactive again. I’ve been working as much as possible (it didn’t help that all the days I work at the library happened to fall on public holidays the past couple of weeks,) and my parents have found me an odd …

Student Life | February 2014

Second day back at uni and I am already feeling my stress levels skyrocket. So, incredibly productive student that I am, I decided the best thing to do during my ridiculously large gaps between classes was to study do quizzes on Buzzfeed. So below are the results of my productivity… honestly though, it is pretty productive if you think about it. I’m learning so much about myself because c’mon, who doesn’t want to know which boy-band member is their soulmate, not a lot of people that’s for sure. If you wanna see what your results are for these quizzes, make sure to click the link! Happy self-discovery! *SPOILER* Be ready to be bombarded with gifs and shit.   What Period of History Do You Really Belong To? I got: Yeah I’m pretty badass… I drive 5kms over the speed limit, check me out. Which British Girl Band Should You Be In? I got: So why am I not dating Zayn Malik yet? Which Shakespeare Character Are You? I got: Let’s also hope I get to wear Hamlet’s awesome footwear ‘cos …
