A few days ago, I posted my 2016 travel wish list, listing places that I’d like to visit sometime next year and one of the places that I’m most excited about is New York City. I’ve never been to NYC before and don’t remember the previous times I’ve been to the US because I was too young at the time, so I’m super excited to head over and check it out. There are few quite touristy places in that I’d love to visit, including; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Guggenheim Museum, The American Museum of Natural History, Times Square, Central Park, The New York Public Library, The Brooklyn Bridge and The Brooklyn Flea Market to name a few. I have also been doing a bit of research and Katie from the Travelling Light suggested Eileen’s Special Cheesecake Shop, which is supposed to be the #1 cheesecake shop in New York. I am also a bit of a Gossip Girl fan, and my friend Georgie is too, so we were thinking of taking a Gossip …
By no means am I an expert on Paris, but after a few quick trips and a few visits to some of the more famous and touristy attractions, I thought I’d compile a 4 day Paris itinerary for anyone who is going to Paris for the first time, with limited time and knowledge. I’m one of those people who is always really interested in seeing where and what people do in places where I’ve been as well, so if you’ve been to Paris, I’d love to know what you did or would recommend. Here are a few suggestions on what to do and what to see, based on what I’ve done during my past few trips. Unfortunately I can’t recommend any good places to stay as I have almost always stayed with a local, apart from the time I stayed close to the CDG airport between flights. While I’ve been a few times, every time has been a 5 days or under trip, so I’m used to trying to get as much done as possible. …
Back in July on the second day of my little trip to Nice with Moana we decided to hop on the train and have a day trip to Monaco! We walked around and admired the beautiful views, rode in another Petite Train and visited the Oceanographic Museum Monaco, check out the vlog of the day below!
*This is not a paid advertisement* This morning my dear friend Moana shared a link about a competition to win a trip for two on Contiki. I absolutely jumped at the chance because Contiki has been something I’ve wanted to do for a wee while, especially after having a few friends who have had tours with the company. Moana just came back from a Contiki tour around Europe a few months ago, and from what it sounded like, she had the best time of her life, so that’s definitely encouraged me to look into it too. For anyone who is unaware about what Contiki is, it’s a company that organises travel and tours for 18-35 year olds, in different parts of the world, for different lengths of time and at different travel paces. There really is something for everyone. Because it is something I really really would love to win, I thought that you all might want a chance too. So what are you waiting for, click the link and have ‘no regrets’. CLICK HERE TO …
On our first day in Nice we thought a good way to explore Nice would be by going on a ride on the Petite Train that departs from Promenade des Anglais. I’d done the ride before and had loved seeing the view from the top of the hill, so I thought Moana might enjoy it too. Here’s a quick vlog of our little trip on the train and a few photos too!
We went for a lovely trip just out of Dusseldorf to visit a pretty pink Schloss and walk around the grounds. We then had a walk around Düsseldorf’s Altstadt (old part of the city) before grabbing a bit to eat. You can check out the blogpost version here too.
Once again, I have another vlog to share, and you can check out the blogpost version here. This was the first of four days in Dusseldorf, Germany, and one of the recommended things to do there is to shop, so shop we did! Hope you enjoy!
Basically just a quick vlog on the plane with a bit of a chat at the end. You can also check out my blogpost here.
Finally have time to edit my vlogs from my time in France and Germany last year, so here’s one of when Moana and I headed to Montmartre and the Sacre-Coeur. You can also check out the blog post here.
Last year while in Paris I visited the Chateau de Versailles, which was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. The palace and its grounds are stunning and the whole experience felt so surreal and as if I was inside a movie. I wrote a blogpost about it here, accompanied by photographs, but below is a vlog of the day, where I’ve compiled bits of footage I took whilst visiting the palace! Hope you enjoy!
