Farewells

Yesterday was a very bittersweet day. Not only did I leave my job at the library, but I also had my leaving dinner with friends. I started my job at the library at the beginning of 2012 as a children’s library shelver and have loved every minute of it. It was just a few hours a week and quite a simple, but fulfilling job. It gave me a lot of time to think and just be with my thoughts, so in a way, it was my little bit of R&R for the week, while being paid. I’m hoping that when I’ll get back, a position will pop up soon enough so I can go back, because I’ve loved working there and everyone is so lovely. In the evening, the leaving dinner was a combination of mine and Moana’s. We have similar friend groups because we went to the same primary and high school, so it worked out really well! We went to a great place down at the newly developed  Wynyard Quarter in Auckland’s CBD called …

Exams, Lunch and First Vlog!

The day has finally come and gone (almost)! Yesterday I sat my one and only exam, Media Communications IIA, which is essentially the study of media theory. It was a three-essay-within-three-hour exam and I was relieved once it was done! Afterwards I headed out to lunch for a friend’s belated birthday. It was a place called Imperial Lane in Auckland’s CBD, which has an all-day breakfast menu. I got the toast with sides, my sides being: sliced tomato, greens, watercress pesto, fresh mozzarella and crispy pancetta, yum! Afterwards it was off to the mall with Mum to buy last minute things for the trip. Boring things like padlocks and contact lenses. And then (big day for me yesterday,) I went off to the cinema with Morgaine to see 22 Jump St. Oh ma gawd. It was hilarious. At the moment my verdict is that it’s maybe not as funny as the first, but I’m going to have to watch it a couple more times to completely make up my mind, (I saw the first film …

Queen Ellie and 2 Weeks to Go

Last night was my last day working at my job at Vector Arena for the year, and what better way to end it than seeing the beautiful and talented Ellie Goulding! Wow, she is amazing! In other exciting news, it is exactly TWO WEEKS until I am off on my adventures! The excitement is building, as are the nerves! Now it’s time to make sure all the paper work and things are in order. I also received my camera in the mail. I’ve been playing around with it and really liking it! I’m excited to start vlogging in a week’s time, don’t know what there is to vlog about yet, but I’ll find something! Hope everyone’s well! A

Out & About| May 2014

Today was quite a full-on day for me. I had work, had to catch a million buses to meet my friends for lunch, (okay, slight exaggeration,) take pictures for my journalism assignment that was due at 4pm and then bus into university to hand it in! It’s days like these that I really wish I had a car. Anyway, here are a few photos I took today, it was a gorgeous sunny day today! Still a bit chilly, but sunny nonetheless.

Out & About | April 2014

Today I went for a little outing to the Auckland Royal Easter Show! Nearly every year I’ve trudged along to the Royal Easter Show, I used to love it as a kid, but as I grew up it slowly got less and less interesting for me. This year though, despite the wet and the cold, I actually had a really great time! I ended up staying for seven hours, which “wows” even me. Along with the carnival games and rides there was a petting zoo, a marketplace and an art exhibition which I personally loved the most. I love art. I’m not very good at it, but most of my family are, so I have an appreciation for it definitely! I think I also had a bit too much bad food for one day too, but it was worth it! Here are a few pictures I took during the day, including my OOT (outfit of the day). Wet weather Outfit of the Day Wearing: Rain Jacket: ASOS Black Skinny Jeans: ASOS Petite Plain Grey Tshirt: …

Happy Easter | April 2014

It’s that time of year again, where stuffing your face with chocolate doesn’t make you look like a pig. via Pinterest It has crept up on me so fast, but Easter is finally here! There is nothing better than getting a whole lot of chocolate! And, not only do I get Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday off but, I am officially on holiday for two weeks! While it’s not going to be all relaxing and partying due to more assignments due after the hols (*sigh*,) it does mean that the pressure is off and I can take it all at my own pace. The past couple of days I’ve started packing most of my things into boxes so that it’s easier for me to move things into my new bedroom which will hopefully (fingers crossed,) be finished before I go to Europe. The Europe trip is creeping up on me too, in just a couple of weeks I’ll be able to say that I’m going to Europe next month, that is so bloody …
