Wu & You Auckland

Food Photo Friday #37: Lunch @ Wu & You, Auckland

Food: Tuna Sashimi Pizza, Wok Fried Broccolini, Mr Krab’s Nori Taco, Yuzu Pot/ Consumed at:Wu & You, Mt Eden, Auckland / Date: 25 April 2018. I’d been hanging out for about a month to try this place ever since it had opened. Working alongside food magazine Dish, I had gotten the low-down, which had obviously made me even more eager to try it. On ANZAC day I headed with a bunch of friends to Wu & You, an restaurant with a similar approach as Melbourne’s Mr Miyagi, for lunch. I was on a bit of a tight budget and also am supposed to be doing the Biggest Loser Challenge at work, so those were the two things stopping me from ordering literally everything on the menu. I’d had a squiz at the menu the night before (indecisiveness is a major flaw of mine) I’d made up my mind already of what I would be getting (surprisingly no dumplings for me this time which is incredibly unlike me). I almost broke my decision, but persevered and …

Food Photo Friday #16: The Little Waffle Shop

Food: Jelly Tip Waffle/ Consumed at: Little Waffle Shop, Wellington/ Date: 23 June 2015 So I saw someone post a photo of beautifully delicious looking waffles on Instagram and I needed to know where and how I could get some for myself. Lucky for me they had gotten it from a tiny place called The Little Waffle Shop down in Wellington. Although I live up in Auckland, I was going down to Welly for a few days so it was obviously meant to be. It was a horribly cold and windy night when my friend and I went down to Courtenay Place to get them. I went for the limited topping of the week: Jelly tip. It was a freshly made waffle topped with raspberry jelly, chocolate drops, a dollop of cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce and a dusting of icing sugar. It was soooo good. Just looking at it now makes me want more. It was a deliciously decadent dessert. One was definitely enough. And that’s a good thing. My friend G went for …

Food Photo Friday #10: Seafood Surprise

Food: Seafood Salad and Tiramisu/ Consumed: Vapiano, Düsseldorf, Germany/ Date: 2 July 2014 After an adventure in a foreign city, a much needed feed was definitely what we needed. This was a meal that Moana and I had in Düsseldorf after we’d had an little adventure out to Schloss Benrath. I had actually seen it recommended on Trip Advisor and thought it would be a cool place to go but wasn’t quite sure where it was. It was luck that led us there in the end. We were just having a look for somewhere to eat and spotted it! It was super busy and it did take a while for the food to be prepared (they prepared it right in front of you, which is quite exciting). I went for the seafood salad and a tiramisu for dessert which were both delicious! I loved the atmosphere at the restaurant, and all the staff were super friendly. They also had a cool way of paying, where you’re given a card, and every time you get something, …
