This month has been a pretty huge month for me. Well in truth, this last week has been a huge week for me. Why? Because I have my first full-time job y’all. Despite feeling that pull to go back to the USA still, the past month I’ve almost accepted that New Zealand is where I’ll be for a bit longer. But what definitely set that all into stone was getting an editorial assistant role at New Zealand Weddings Magazine. I was absolutely ecstatic when I found out! It’s my first full time and media-related job and I honestly couldn’t be more excited or grateful. There’s a lot to learn, but that’s what makes it so exciting. So far the first week has been absolutely amazing. My first week coincided with New Zealand Fashion Week and NZ Weddings holds two fashion shows as part of it, so I got to experience the full excitement and craziness that accompanies one of the busiest times of the year for the publication. So yes, while I’d still love to …

Oh my, the first currently of the year- only 7 months in, but better late than never, non? This month has mostly involved settling back into life in Auckland. I’m not going to lie, it’s tough. Like, very, very tough. Every day I’ve been pining for my life back at Disney and in the States. I’ve just had to keep telling myself that it was the best thing to do, what with the student loan I need to pay off and me wanting to actually start my journalism/ media career, neither of which I would be able to achieve at Disney. I guess the hardest thing is that in this situation I did have the opportunity to extend if I’d wanted to. But because of the timing of when they asked, I totally thought I’d be fine leaving Disney and coming home. Fast forward to two weeks before I was set to leave Orlando and man was I wrong! But I guess that’s life and I just have to keep telling myself that things happen …

This month marked the end of an era for me– graduating university and finishing my schooling (for now). Bachelor of Communication Studies majoring in journalism. Holla! Walking down the main street in Auckland with all my fellow classmates, and then seeing everyone graduate was such an awesome experience and one that I’ll never forget! A bit weird being surrounded by people taking photos of you while you walk down the street though, I have to admit. In other news I’ve been working at Lush a lot, being super busy with the Christmas rush and saving as much as I can for the USA (21 days until I leave NZ, it hasn’t quite sunk in yet). I had a super relaxing Christmas with good food, drink and tunes with some of my close family which was really lovely. I’ve been quite slack lately with my blogging and haven’t really done any blogworthy things if I’m honest, but rest assured you’ll be bombarded with lots of blogs posts (and hopefully vlogs) very very soon. Meanwhile, here’s a …

I have now officially finished university forever (or for now anyway) and I’m pretty lost about what to do with myself actually. It’s pretty strange realising that I have officially finished my institutional education and am free to do whatever I like, whenever I like! With all these changes I thought it was a good time to do this month’s ‘Currently’. This also means my blog posts will start getting more frequent again with the lead up to my next adventure in the USA! CURRENTLY: Reading: Cannot wait to start some good summer reads! I have a list on Goodreads that I can’t wait to crack into! Summer reading on the beach? Sounds perfect. Watching: As well as having some of my favourite shows back (HTGAWM is so hella good right now!) I’ve also started Chicago Fire which I’m enjoying a lot. Hello Taylor Kinney. Listening to: Still loving the Rudimental album and as much as I hate to admit it I’m loving all of JB‘s new songs. Also “Hello“! Dreaming of: Disney World! It is coming up so quickly! Planning: My …

Yes, I’ve skipped a month, but with a crazy-load of uni work, can you blame me? Just three more weeks until I am done, done, done with university… forever (or until I decide to study more). Anyhoo, here’s what I’ve been up to so far during the month of October. CURRENTLY: Reading: Lots and lots of lifestyle articles online, sometimes uni is fun. Watching: Everything is back! TUNES. Dreaming of: THREE WEEKS UNTIL SUMMER HOLIDAYS! Planning: My trip to Walt Disney World and generally just sorting my post-uni life out. Making: Flight plans, visa plans, hotel plans and new Disney friends. Enjoying:  The last few weeks of uni with my friends, even if the workload is horrible.  Eating:  At this very moment I’m chomping down on some Watermelon Sour Patch Kids. Excited for: I know this is probably getting old, …

Here we are! Another month draws to a close and we are officially half way through the year! This month made me very nostalgic as it marked the month I left New Zealand one year ago for my big trip abroad with one of my best friends Moana! I wrote a blog post about my trip highlights: “Throwback Thursday: Best Trip of my Life“. Anyway, here’s what I have been up to this month: CURRENTLY: Reading: A lot of woman’s magazines. I’ve just starting an internship at one of NZ’s top woman’s magazines, Woman’s Day. Watching: Orange is the New Black. I don’t know why I didn’t start this sooner Listening to: I know I go on about Years and Years all the time. But I love, love, love “Shine” and “Foundation” at the moment. Dreaming of: The day I will work for a magazine that I love. Planning: A big trip which is still kind of under wraps at the moment. Keep an eye out for updates in the next couple of months. Making: New connections thanks to my internship (I …

Happy Queen’s Birthday Weekend! If there’s one thing this month has been, it’s that it’s been crazy. Not particularly in a good way, more like crazy busy, crazy stressed. With one week left of my second-to-last semester, deadlines have been creeping up and tests have been a plenty. I definitely still feel like I’m doing the right course, but the workload is mental and the bar has definitely been lifted for our final year. There hasn’t been much to report of late. I’ve started working again now and again to try and get those dollar bills, but having to juggle it with uni work has been difficult. I did go on a police-ridealong on a Friday night though it was honestly the coolest and most exciting experience ever. Everyone was so lovely and absolutely hilarious, if I ever want a career change I know where to go. In the meantime, here’s a quick summary of what I’ve been doing this month. CURRENTLY: Reading: “Dragonfly In Amber” by Diana Gabaldon (#2 in the Outlander series) Watching: Outlander (duh), …

Currently: March 2015

A new month, a new currently post. Here are the things I’ve been up to so far in the month of March. CURRENTLY: Reading: Slowly, but surely getting through “Daughter” by Jane Shemilt Watching: Old shows I’ve forgotten about such as “Reign” and “How To Get Away With Murder” and also new ones like “The Flash”. Listening to: an assortment of awesome music Dreaming of: Travels, far away from this desk. Planning: A trip to Wellington to see one of my good friends. Making: or should I say, writing, new stories as part of my journalism bootcamp Enjoying: Being at home after a full-on first day at uni. Eating: not very well… Getting back to uni has disrupted my eating pattern. Excited for: This weekend when I can finally go to the beach. Goal setting: Saving money and also keeping on top of my uni work. Learning: Journalistic skills. Lusting over: Taron Egerton. Google him.

My Travel Bucket-List: Revisited| How well did I do?

Oh dear, here we go! Before embarking on my big 7 month trip to Europe I set myself a few goals that I wanted to achieve. Now today, I’m going to review them and see how well I actually did. I’m not feeling too optimistic guys…  Be able to hold a basic conversation in French: Because I’m going to be staying in France for around 3 months with an Aunt who knows limited-no English, I’m hoping that this will force me to use what little French I know and develop it a whole heap more. -Unfortunately, I don’t think I can tick this one off. While my understanding of French has definitely improved, my spoken French is still abysmal. I can form sentences in my head that I think make sense, but I think it was a combination of nerves that prevented me from actually speaking them aloud. This is still something I really want to improve before I go back.  Try 9 new foods/dishes: I’m usually quite an adventurous eater, I’ll give almost everything …
