This month has been a pretty huge month for me. Well in truth, this last week has been a huge week for me. Why? Because I have my first full-time job y’all. Despite feeling that pull to go back to the USA still, the past month I’ve almost accepted that New Zealand is where I’ll be for a bit longer. But what definitely set that all into stone was getting an editorial assistant role at New Zealand Weddings Magazine. I was absolutely ecstatic when I found out! It’s my first full time and media-related job and I honestly couldn’t be more excited or grateful. There’s a lot to learn, but that’s what makes it so exciting. So far the first week has been absolutely amazing. My first week coincided with New Zealand Fashion Week and NZ Weddings holds two fashion shows as part of it, so I got to experience the full excitement and craziness that accompanies one of the busiest times of the year for the publication. So yes, while I’d still love to …

Yes, I’ve skipped a month, but with a crazy-load of uni work, can you blame me? Just three more weeks until I am done, done, done with university… forever (or until I decide to study more). Anyhoo, here’s what I’ve been up to so far during the month of October. CURRENTLY: Reading: Lots and lots of lifestyle articles online, sometimes uni is fun. Watching: Everything is back! TVD, The Flash, Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, OUAT, HTGAWM and most likely missed a few in my excitement.  Listening to: I’m digging the new Rudimental album so much. “Rumour Mill” and “Treading Water” have to be a couple of my absolute faves though. TUNES. Dreaming of: THREE WEEKS UNTIL SUMMER HOLIDAYS! Planning: My trip to Walt Disney World and generally just sorting my post-uni life out. Making: Flight plans, visa plans, hotel plans and new Disney friends. Enjoying:  The last few weeks of uni with my friends, even if the workload is horrible.  Eating:  At this very moment I’m chomping down on some Watermelon Sour Patch Kids. Excited for: I know this is probably getting old, …

August seemed like such a long month thanks to me having 101 things to do, but the countdown is on until I can finally graduate! Here’s what I got up to last month. CURRENTLY: Reading: Shorthand text books. I’m not enjoying it one bit. Watching: Suits and Teen Wolf! Listening to: I’m was never much of a Justin Bieber fan, but I’m digging his new song. This month I’m back at uni for MY LAST SEMESTER EVER. It’s pretty crazy and I’m kind of at the point where I just want it all to be over already! So what do I have planned for after I graduate? I have a couple of things in the works, none of which have been confirmed yet and the first won’t be confirmed until late-August. You guys might remember my 2016 wish-list that included going over to the US… Let that be a clue of what my plans might be, but they could be happening much sooner/in a different way than I had ever expected! In the meantime, catch up on what I got up to last month. CURRENTLY: Reading: Over the past month I’ve been reading a lot of Woman’s Day because of my internship there, but I’m now back to the academic readings for uni assignments. Watching: Suits! It was recommended to me by quite a lot of people and I’m so glad I started it, because I love it! Listening to: I’m sure you roll your eyes …

Here we are! Another month draws to a close and we are officially half way through the year! This month made me very nostalgic as it marked the month I left New Zealand one year ago for my big trip abroad with one of my best friends Moana! I wrote a blog post about my trip highlights: “Throwback Thursday: Best Trip of my Life“. Anyway, here’s what I have been up to this month: CURRENTLY: Reading: A lot of woman’s magazines. I’ve just starting an internship at one of NZ’s top woman’s magazines, Woman’s Day. Watching: Orange is the New Black. I don’t know why I didn’t start this sooner Listening to: I know I go on about Years and Years all the time. But I love, love, love “Shine” and “Foundation” at the moment. Dreaming of: The day I will work for a magazine that I love. Planning: A big trip which is still kind of under wraps at the moment. Keep an eye out for updates in the next couple of months. Making: New connections thanks to my internship (I …

Burnt Out, But…One Week Until Wellington!

It’s been a while, four months actually, since I’ve been on a plane, but in exactly one week’s time I’ll be on another big mechanical bird flying out of Auckland to visit New Zealand’s capital, Wellington. It might not be a long-haul flight to tackle an adventure on the other side of the world, but it’s still something I am very very excited about because this has been one hell of a semester at uni. Uni burn-out season has arrived at my doorstep. It’s that time of the semester when the semester is drawing to a close and everyone has all their deadlines at one time and are working so furiously at all hours of the day and night that the body just can’t cope and konks out. Probably more accurately known as disorganisation and bad time management. Exhibit A: ME – Currently curled up in bed with a sore throat and the sniffles, sipping on a hot cup water with lemon and honey. This is what uni does to you people. (This is slightly …

Exciting Announcement

No guys, unfortunately I can’t announce that I’m about to marry the beautiful human pictured above, BUT I still have some exciting news which I’m super pumped to be sharing with everyone. If you’ve read my TV Schedule post or follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that I am pretty obsessed with the TV show Outlander. In order to not bombard you all with constant Outlander posts, I decided it would be best to channel that passion to somewhere more appropriate, so it is with great excitement that I can now announce that I am now a contributor to the awesomely fun website, Fangirlish. My role is to contribute towards the Outlander fandom by updating everyone on what’s going on with the books, the show and the stars! You can find almost any fandom on the website, so if you’re a huge fan of a particular TV show, film franchise, band or book series, you should definitely check it out! So far I’ve written two posts, one of them a recap of episode 1×11: The Devil’s …

Easter Walks & Coming Up Soon

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! In Auckland we were treated to mostly beautiful weather (Sunday excluded,) and yesterday I took advantage of that by going for a walk with Moana at Waiatarua Park. I also thought I’d take this chance to let you know what’s coming up in the next couple of months. I am currently on holiday for two weeks, but after that it’s back to a full-on term of university. I do however, have a few projects that I’ll be working on for the blog. You might have already seen my first City in a Snapshot post, which is the first in a series of posts that I’m hoping to do. I’m trying to make them as a bit of a city guide, some of them as itineraries and others like a ‘quick tip’, ‘must-see’ kind of post and I’m hoping people will find them helpful! I am also hoping, with the help of my friends, to create a quick four part series of posts about life after school. My friends …

Happy Easter everyone! Today ended a stressful, full-on week with assignments and early mornings and coming down with a cold, but now I’m able to have a bit of breathing and relaxing time for a couple of weeks before heading back for the second half of the semester. So, to welcome in the new month and the holidays, here’s a super quick update. CURRENTLY: Reading: About technological determinism and such for the essay I had to write for university. Watching: Some new shows that I’ve gotten into; ‘Poldark’ on BBC1, ‘iZombie’ with Kiwi actress Rose McIvor and also catching up on a few YouTuber’s channels. Listening to: an assortment of awesome music Dreaming of: My plans after graduating from university at the end of this year. I’m hoping to do a trip to the States sometime next year and pop over the pond to the UK to say hello to my old flatmates in Cardiff. Planning: My assignments for the second half of next semester. I really don’t want to be in the same boat that I’ve been in this …

Learning: Wish I could say I was learning lots, but at the …
